Fireworks |

Dear Residents,
We have recently seen an increase in reports of fireworks being used in connection with anti-social behaviour (ASB) in the Lees area. If you have any information about those responsible, please contact your local neighbourhood policing team.
We would also like to take this opportunity to encourage residents to avoid using fireworks at the present time. Despite the recent rainfall, the ground remains extremely dry following the prolonged periods of hot weather experienced this year. As a result, there continues to be a significant risk of fires, particularly on moorland and open land.
Recent fires across the region have placed considerable pressure on Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency services. By avoiding the use of fireworks, you can help reduce the risk of further incidents, protect local wildlife, and help keep our communities safe.
We would also like to remind residents that there are legal restrictions on the use of fireworks. Standard fireworks must not be set off between 11:00pm and 7:00am (except for certain permitted occasions). Any breaches identified by police may result in enforcement action being taken.
Thank you for your support and cooperation.
Kind regards, | ||
